Major ZFA Assignments
RAC stands- for Reaching Agents of Change, a 3-year project (2011-2014) under the International Potato Center (CIP) responsible for catalyzing African Advocacy and Development Efforts to achieve impact with Orange-fleshed Sweetpotato (OFSP) to combat vitamin A deficiency among young children and women of reproductive age in Sub- Saharan Africa; It operated in Tanzania, Mozambique and Nigeria and in two secondary countries: Ghana and Burkina Faso.
ARDSF stands for Agricultural Research and Development Support Facility under the Australian AID-funded during 5-years ((2007-2012).
It was designed to strengthen the ability of agricultural research to contribute more effectively to development outcomes in Papua New Guinea. ARDSF was established as a flexible support facility that could respond to the changing capacity needs of research organizations.
GFRAS stands for Global Forum for Rural Advisory Services. Its mission is to provide advocacy and leadership on pluralistic, demand-driven rural advisory services in the context of the global development agenda.
To fulfil its mission, GFRAS published a position paper entitled ‘The “New Extensionist”: Roles, Strategies, and Capacities to Strengthen Extension and Advisory Services” to be the foundation for the design of a distance learning program.

ICAR stands for Indian Council of Agricultural Research. In 2006, Zenete Franca, as senior research fellow of the International Food Research Institute, leading learning and capacity building of ISNAR Division in Ethiopia, was member of the World Bank Team to design the component of Learning and Capacity Building for the Project called World Bank National Agricultural Innovation Project (NAIP). After her moving to Portugal, (2007) Dr. Franca undertook an international assignment and went back to India as part of the World Bank follow-up mission.
MINED stands for`”Ministério de Educação”, of Mozambique Government with Institutional Support of InWENT - Capacity Building International under the German Cooperation supported implementation of the Component 1. National training program in Education Finance in Mozambique – Lot 2 which included the Development of Training Modules for Planning, Budgeting and managing Education in Mozambique.
IIAM stands for “Instituto de Investigação Agrária of Moçambique” (the Mozambican Nacional Agricultural Institute) with financial support from CTA International in the Netherlands, implemented a learning and capacity building workshop to provide the extensionists from Mozambique, Angola and Guinea Bissau, with the opportunity to practice the production of materials using methodologies which had been used and well assessed by practitioners of rural development

CONSULTANTS IN LEARNING AND CAPACITY BUILDING - EFFECTIVE LEARNING - THE WAY OUT OF POVERTY

FAO - Country mission consultation. In 2008/2009, FAO had a plan to develop a new Corporate Capacity Building Strategy and decided to form special teams of professionals to travel to several regions of the world. The objective of the teams was to interview officials from government and non-government, international and intergovernmental agencies, private partners, and country-based donors. Zenete Franca was part of two teams assigned by FAO to undertake the country mission in Mozambique e Peru.
